Hanuman's Memory Trick

It is a belief in Hinduism that chanting Hanuman God’s name before studying will help a student to remember whatever he studies. Thelegend behind this belief is:

Lord Hanuman had such an impeccable and sharp memory that whatever was taught to him by his teacher God Sun (Surya) was always committed to his memory forever. Lord Hanuman could reproduce the whole lessons in one go and Lord Sun had nothing to teach him anymore after a fortnight.


Now instead of being happy to get such a wonderful student God Sun was worried that he will soon loose this wonderful student within days as there will be nothing left to teach him anymore and God Sun loved Lord Hanuman so dearly that he could not even think of loosing him.

So Lord Sun caused Lord Hanuman to forget the lessons taught by him soon so that he could teach the same lessons repeatedly and thus benefiting with a prolonged period of companionship of Lord Hanuman.
But at last Lord Sun was so impressed with the devotion of Lord Hanuman that he lifted his own magic and allowed Lord Hanuman to return to earth.

And he also blessed Lord Hanuman with the boon that whoever recites his name before studying will get a sharp memory and will remember whatever he or she studies.
