A devout Christian died and reached the gates of heaven. There Jesus himself
was present to receive him.
'Come my dearest child,' Jesus said to the man.
‘I am not your dearest child,' said the man in anger.
‘Why you think so,' asked Jesus.
‘My whole life I had to live in a small house, drive a small car and money was never sufficient in my house. How can I be your dearest child?'
Jesus smiled softly. He opened the gates of heaven and the man entered along with Jesus. There in a corner Jesus showed the man a big car, a big house and bags full of money.
‘They were all for you,' Jesus said as he pointed towards them.
‘You never gave them to me,' asked the man.
Jesus looked into the eyes of the man and said, ‘My dearest child you never asked for them. You always prayed for a small car, small house and sufficient money.'
