Power of giving.

As Saint Martin, a Roman Catholic saint arrived at the city walls after a long and back breaking campaign with his army, all he wanted was a warm bed, a bath and meal. He was extremely tired and cold.

And just as he was about to enter the city gates his exhausted eyes noticed a beggar naked and shivering. The beggar called Saint Martin for help. Now our dear Saint Martin was in a fix, he had no money or food to give to the beggar. Nevertheless, after all he was a saint. He cut his large cap into two with his sword and gave half to the beggar and moved on.

That night as Saint Martin was sleeping cosy-cosy at the inn, safe and sound after a nice bath and meal. He had a vision where he saw the beggar thanking and honouring him for his good deed. Some other versions say that Saint Martin saw Jesus in his vision wearing a half cloak and telling his angels about Saint Martin's power of giving which had moved Jesus's heart.

                              That's the power of giving.
