Have you ever wondered about the HB or B or H written on the pencils. Then you are puzzled like me. So, let's take a a quick info round to these B's and H's.
H stands for Hardness.
And
B stands for Blackness.
Graphite is used in pencils. And this graphite has different strengths. The higher the number of 'B' on a pencil the blacker and harder it will be. The graphite used in pencils with the number 'H' is harder. The hardeness increases as the number increases.
We use HB pencils for writing and the 2B/4B for pencil shading.
